"For if a man is not remembered, he has never lived at all" What will you and I be remembered for? Our families will surely remember us, our friends will for a while and perhaps some event will cause us to stay written in the pages of time. When you give and help some needy child, that help will carry on forever. Your generosity could provide schooling and college that will reflect to all that child's off-spring. Making their life better will give their children a better life, and so on. Your name will continue to be uttered as the person who gave great-great-great-grandma or grandpa the opportunity to live a better life to pass on to them.
There are some who believe that God will remember us if we have led the good life and made the decisions that we should have for Jesus and there are those who do not believe this as is our choice. Being Christian, Catholic, Muslim, atheist or any of the other choices does not control the feelings associated with giving.
While walking I am approached by so many in need. Even in Taxi's they tap your window begging (a P500 fine for you because the city does not wish these children to be in traffic for the dangers involved). Those many times I have to refuse, but so many times I give change or a happy meal when in McDonald's or whatever. Recently while eating at Jollibee, a young man tapped on the window, obviously a Down Syndrome, but the servers had to refuse him. The lad started to walk away but I motioned him to stay, bought a hot-dog and went out and gave it to him. He was so very happy. Just this little act of love will remain with him certainly. It can be difficult for me to see these children and disabled adults so unclean. The children are sleeping on the sidewalk on a piece of cardboard. Their feet and body are black from the dirt. Hair matted. Clothes tattered beyond anything that we would put on our children. Once I woke up a boy sleeping in the sun and gave him a little burger, fries and drink. I believe he thought he was dreaming.
You can do this as well, be it a 20 year old Down Syndrome or a little child, your charitable generosity will touch their hearts so profoundly. You will know in your heart that you have given to help.
You will feel that warmness that humans feel with every act of charity that you do.
Please make that donation today, HELP US FEED THE WORLD ONE CHILD AT A TIME!!
